As is the case with just about everything in life, just because you’ve passed your test and bought your first car, doesn’t mean that you’ll stop learning.
After all, nobody’s perfect and just because you take an exam that doesn’t mean you won’t make mistakes in future or forget a few things.
This is why refresher driving courses exist and there are plenty of good reasons to take them.
YOU’RE A BIT RUSTY
How long has it been since you’ve driven a car? If it’s more than a year, then you’re probably a bit rusty. If it’s more than five years then you’re definitely rusty.
It’s not compulsory, but if you’ve not been behind the wheel in a while, we recommend that you take a refresher course.
After all, you don’t want your first experience of being back on the road to be a bad one.
YOU’RE STILL LACKING CONFIDENCE
This sort of ties into the first point, as the less you drive the less confidence you have doing it. However, plenty of new drivers still lack confidence in certain areas even after passing their test.
If, for example, your bay parking could do with some work, a refresher lesson could be just the thing you need to bring yourself up-to-scratch and inspire more confidence on the road.
YOU’VE DEVELOPED BAD HABITS
Lastly, if you recognise that you’ve developed one or two bad habits on the road, a refresher course could correct these. You don’t want a bad habit to get you in any kind of trouble as it’s a very easy thing to do.
